یہ علی صاحب کی تصویر ہے۔ علی صاحب ضلع شگر کے گاوں ڈوکو کے رہائشی ہیں۔ یہ اپنے گھر کی راکھ پر  بیٹھے  ہوے ہیں۔ کل رات ان پر قیامت گزری۔ گھر میں صبح صادق کے وقت، ت قریباً تین بجے، اچانک آگ بھڑک اُٹھی۔ شائد چولہے کے قریب پڑی لکڑیوں میں آگ گئی تھی، یا بجلی کا سرکٹ شارٹ ہوگیا تھا۔ آگ جلد ہی پھیل گئی۔ گارے اور لکڑی سے بنا مکان جلد ہی شعلوں کی زد میں آگیا۔ علی کمرے کی کھڑکی کے راستے اپنے بیٹے کے ساتھ بحفاظت نکل گیا۔ لیکن گھر کے اندر موجود ان کی ستر سالہ بزرگ والدہ، خدیجہ صاحبہ، دو معذور بھائی، ولی صاحب اور غلام حسن صاحب، جن کی عمریں 30 اور 45 سال بتائی جارہی ہیں، اور علی کی دو بیٹیاں 9 سالہ نسرین اور 13 سالہ زہرہ موجود تھیں۔ محلے داروں نے بڑی تگ و دو کے بعد آگ پر جیسے تیسے قابو پالیا۔ لیکن ان کی کوششیں بارآور ہونے تک دو مکانات جل چکے تھے، اور گھر کے اندر پھنسے پانچ افراد جھلس کرلقمہ اجل بن چکے تھے۔ اب علی صاحب یاس اور الم کی تصویر بنے اپنے گھر کی راکھ پر بیٹھا ماتم کناں ہے۔ گھر جل گیا۔ خاندان کے پانچ افراد جھلس کر جان بحق ہوگئے۔ چند منٹوں میں اتنا بڑا سانحہ ہوگیا۔ علی کی جگہ کوئی

KP approves draft bill to end corporal punishment in schools The bill, if it becomes law, would make corporal punishment in KP schools punishable with a fine and imprisonment. PESHAWAR -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved a draft bill making corporal punishment illegal in public and private schools. Authorities made the decision during a cabinet meeting April 11 chaired by KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. The bill awaits further action and a vote in the KP Assembly. "There was no law prohibiting the inhumane practice of corporal punishment against children, and in most cases parents had no other option except to approach the courts," KP Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani told Pakistan Forward April 15. "The absence of a law forced aggrieved parents to resort  to legal battles  for the proper consideration of complaints," he said. NO REPRESENTATION OF GB I t all began when KKH was built in the late ’60s and’70s along the Gilgit and Indus rivers. Thousands of Chinese crossed into Pakistan to build the road. It was a daunting task to take up this massive project manually with very limited machinery. However, the Chinese and their Pakistani counterparts blasted their way through sheer hard rock walls, shifting gravel and mountains to carve a road, popularly known as the eighth wonder of the world. It was indeed a feat of engineering and the courage of thousands of men who lost their life while forging this road is commendable. The local population was apprehensive of this massive ingress and its impact on their daily lives. The government allayed their fears by telling them that this road would open GB to the world, bring prosperity to the area and new jobs for the youth.
